Talk to your local agent: They can help you discover what is happening in the market and what the market trends are. Also signing up to the agent’s mail alerts is your best friend when looking for your new home or investment property. Consider it another set of eyes that let you know when your ideal property is listed. This also gives you an edge to be the first to see that potential property.

Do your Research: Where do you want to buy? Make sure when looking for a house you do all your research on the area i.e. schooling, transport, resale value and flooding. This process is the fun bit don’t feel rushed on your decision.

Pest and building: Always a yes! Don’t take the property at face value, double check everything.

Don’t over commit: Avoid properties that are out of your budget? Talk to your bank/ mortgage broker & understand what a realistic budget is.

Bank Approved: To make the process easier and less stressful make sure you have been approved by the bank. This helps with knowing how much you can actually afford as well as makes the process easier and faster when you have finally decided on that dream home or investment.
